Kellem assumes command of DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas

Army Lt. Col. Marvin D. Kellem IV assumed command of DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, in a ceremony June 10.
Kellem is a native of Louisville, Ky. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in January 1989 as a Tactical Telecommunications Center operator and deployed with the 425th Quartermaster Company, 2nd Support Command (Germany) in support of Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After graduating from Western Kentucky University in 1994, Kellem was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps with a branch detail in Air Defense Artillery.
Kellem's first duty assignment was at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He served as the Stinger Platoon leader, later Avenger Platoon leader, 1st Battalion, 62nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light).
After his branch detail concluded in 1996, he began his service as an Ordnance officer. Kellem served as the deputy adjutant, Division Support Command, 25th Infantry Division (Light). Later, he served as the Company Executive officer and the Supply Support Activity accountable officer, Bravo Company, 325th Forward Support Battalion, Division Support Command, 25th Infantry Division (Light). Kellem completed this tour of duty serving as the Deputy Support Operations officer in charge of the 325th Forward Support Battalion.
Upon completion of the Combined Logistics Officers Advanced Course and the Combined Arms Staff and Services School, Kellem served as the Squadron S-4, Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Carson, Colo. He then transferred to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) where he served as the Support Operations Maintenance officer, 64th Forward Support Battalion. In December 2001, Kellem assumed command of Bravo Company, 64th Forward Support Battalion.
After completing company command in 2002, Kellem served as a training developer/writer, Training Directorate, U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command. Later, he served as deputy chief for the Commanding General's Planning Group, U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command.
In 2004, Kellem relocated to Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., where he served as aide-de-camp, executive officer, and special assistant to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Field Support Command. He also served as G-3 executive officer, U.S. Army Sustainment Command.
After completing the Command and General Staff College Intermediate Level Education and earning a Master's of Occupational Education from Kansas State University in 2007, Kellem relocated to the 16th Special Troops Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, in January 2008 as the battalion executive officer and deployed for 15 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-10 to Contingency Operating Base Q-West assigned to Multi-National Division (North), Iraq. Later, Kellem served as the interim battalion commander, 16th Special Troops Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade. His last duty position with the 16th Sustainment Brigade was as the Brigade Support Operations officer.
Kellem's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three bronze stars, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with star device, parachutist badge, and air assault badge.
